Digital Asset Management (DAM)

“Hey, where is that _insert the blank_?” Regardless of the brand assets you’re creating, one of their primary values is the ease of access for the team. How are images organized and does that align with the brand’s priorities? Is that organization flexible enough to support an evolving environment? Do individuals have the appropriate access?  Balancing the need for information and easy access is critical and an ongoing challenge. Clear guidelines for file names and metadata are essential.

Having spent more than 15 years on a single DAM platform (Acquia, formerly Widen) gives me a unique point of view on the above questions. Balancing the desire for detail vs. available time needs to be done with your end users in mind. A governance document helps set and address priorities for assets as well as the opportunity to provide technical context. I’m proud to look back at the DAM I have built and maintained over these years. At a last look it was on track to deliver more than quarter of a million assets in ’24 to employees and dealers globally.
