CourtStack Ecosystem Identity
This project began with an existing logomark (the CourtStack logo shown below in the second gallery) and a vision for a robust ecosystem of portable solutions, core systems, and services. Unique logomarks were developed for this suite of applications through an iterative process in partnership with the product owners and the Court Technology Services leadership team. Some of these marks were more intuitive to develop, and some went through several rounds of concepts to arrive at a common favorite. All of them were developed with simplicity and clarity in mind, plus a splash of color in a traditionally business-blue world.
A jewel-tone color palette was developed early in the process to bring contrast and pop to the logomarks, without making them too garish for the audience. Each logomark was tailored for use at three sizes and formats, in addition to reversed options suitable for use on a dark background.
My parent Illustrator pages include relevant notes, guidelines, and show the three primary versions of each mark. A layout guide and color palette are also part of my source files for easy reference when adding new logomarks to this system.
But wait - there’s more!
As an extension of the CourtStack Ecosystem, the Court had a booth at the Court Technology Conference – the largest conference in this market – where we shared the CourtStack mission and information with fellow state courts and vendors.
While I’ve attended a few trade shows over the years, I’d never put one together. It was a new challenge and I’m proud of how it came together. I developed a digest-sized booklet (PDF) that shared information about CourtStack with audience-appropriate details and interesting visuals. Being relatively new to this environment – both the Court and being part of a Technology Team – building this booklet was a chance to dig in and better understand what our solutions are capable of. I’ve heard from teammates who are way more technical than I that the booklet helped them grasp parts of the CourtStack system they aren’t personally involved with. Glad to hear that kind of feedback!
Sidebar - User Interface Design
Part of my work at the Court includes developing the user interfaces for applications. That’s an ongoing learning opportunity I’m enjoying and I look forward to sharing more about that in the future.
